I don't like the way a lot of the RC sites are run -- they are controlled by the advertising of the sponsors, if you dis the sponsors, the admins knock you down.   I feel that is unfair to the citizens who use these sites.  I have no sponsors and want to keep it that way.

This site is designed so that ordinary people like you and I can share opinions in the forums and write our own reviews on RC plane things.  Tell the world your story about your RC plane or RC heli, good or bad.

This site is not associated with flyinggiants.com in any way.

TROYBUILTMODELS.COM SUCKS! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Troybuiltmodels.com has lost my business. I placed an order with their "black friday" deals and when I got the final subtotal for the order that I had placed, I noticed that they listed another small discount which I thought was nice of them.

Anyways I got his call from a guy named Ewardo who says that "Ops they made a mistake", shipping is more and they won't honor the price that their checkout software said I would pay. He rudely demands "You take this new price or I will cancel the order" several times while I'm trying to figure out what he was talking about.  I guess he must have been dealing with a lot of irritated people because he was very rude.   And whats up with raising shipping? Four servos and 3 receivers should not cost over 20 dollars to ship.  I guess they are trying to line their pockets after having some heavy discounts.

This was my first attempt at purchasing through them.  I must say I'm pretty disappointed.  However, thankfully this is a free economy and there are many other hobby shops out there.

I will continue doing business with Tower Hobbies and Horizon. Both stand behind their products and their pricing. I have been doing business with them for years. This shows me that in the future, I should stick to the good guys, not these hacks like TBM. If a company lists additional discounts, they should honor those discounts. Not rudely demand that you either pay up or cancel. In this economy, or at any time, if you want my business and you want my money, then you need to treat me with respect.  I would hope you all would agree.

They won't dupe me again. I do not recommend for Troy in your future purchases.

I do however really like TowerHobbies. I've spent thousands of dollars there and really do enjoy their "members only discounts". That 20% is a wonderful thing.  However, when we can, we should buy from our local hobby stores first otherwise they won't be there. Laughing

The club that I recommend everyone to fly at is the Franklin County Radio Control Club located at Gate 4 of the Turners Falls airport in Turners Falls, MA. You can read more about our club at www.franklinrc.com. Anyways, here is a video that I took from the wings of a Great Planes Siren hotliner of the area surrounding the club. It includes pictures of the current construction on the Turners Falls airport -- they have currently torn up the runway and are making it approximately 1000 feet longer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7HhSoy-lFg&feature=channel
